Workhorse fencing that earns its keep: galvanized and vinyl-coated chain link, classic cedar split rail, and welded-wire farm fence for yards, dogs, gardens, and acreage across Massachusetts.
Not every job calls for privacy panels. When you need to contain a dog, mark a property line, protect a garden, or run fence along real acreage, chain link and farm fencing get it done at a price per foot nothing else touches — and installed right, they'll outlast fences that cost three times as much.
| Posts | Terminal and gate posts set in concrete below the frost line; line posts driven or set to suit the run. |
|---|---|
| Fabric | 9- or 11-gauge steel fabric, stretched tight with tension bars and bands — no wavy lines. |
| Top rail | Continuous galvanized top rail on every chain link run; bottom tension wire standard. |
| Split rail | Cedar posts and rails; mesh stapled on the animal side where pets are the point. |
| Gates | Walk and double-drive gates, plumb and swinging free — the part most fences get wrong. |
Galvanized is the budget pick and lasts for decades. Vinyl-coated costs a bit more but resists corrosion longer and looks far softer in a yard — black coated chain link against trees is nearly invisible. We'll quote both if you're on the fence, so to speak.
It's the best value in dog containment there is. We match the height to the dog, stretch the fabric so there's no flex, and can add a bottom rail for diggers and escape artists.
Decades, typically — cedar naturally resists rot and insects, which is why it's been the New England roadside fence for a couple hundred years. Adding welded-wire mesh keeps pets in without losing the look.
Yes. Bent top rails, ripped fabric, leaning terminal posts, dragging gates — if it's fixable we'll fix it, and we'll tell you honestly when replacement is the cheaper path.
For full backyard privacy, look at our vinyl privacy fencing. For pools and formal front yards, ornamental aluminum is the move. Either way, a walkthrough is free — we'll price options against each other on the spot.
Tell us the run, the terrain, and the job it has to do. We'll spec it, price it, and build it — owners on site, start to finish.
